This is really an ingenious idea and I’ve already signed up for it.
Chris Brown over at ShowMeProofs.com has developed a bot that crawls the web looking for images that are not on websites that they belong to. According to Chris:
What it does is check the image’s EXIF data to see if there is a URL listed in the copyright field of the image and compares the domain name to the site the image appears on. If they don’t match, the image is flagged as a possible copyright violation and the image owner is notified (if the bot knows who that owner is).
Best of all, it’s a FREE service for photographer’s that want to tag their images before putting them online.
